About

After years as a systems engineer and, later, a food journalist and critic, I decided I wanted to spend less time behind a computer screen. Why pianos? I loved the unique combination of hand skills, problem solving and music appreciation.

I graduated from North Bennet Street School’s Piano Technology program where I learned to tune by ear, adjust action parts to optimize performance and conduct tons of repairs. I’m also a Registered Piano Technician in the Piano Technicians Guild and regularly attend conferences and classes to continue to learn more about my craft.

When I’m not wrangling tuning pins I can be found hunting down tacos on my motorcycle or cooking Sichuan food in my kitchen. I live and work in Los Angeles with my partner and our King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, Cloe.
